👇👇Read the Poem👇👇
MONEY

When I had money, money, O!
I knew no joy till I went poor;
For many a false man as a friend
Came knocking all day at my door

Then felt I like a child that holds
A trumpet that he must not blow
Because a man is dead; I hared
Not speak to let this false world know.

Much have I thought of life, and seen
How poor men’s heart are ever light
And their wives do hum like bees
About their work from morn till night.

So, when I hear these poor one’s laugh,
And see the rich one’s coldly frown
Poor men, think I, need not go up
So much as rich men should come down

When I had money, money, O!
My many friends proved all untrue;
But now I have no money O!
My friends are real, though very few.
 [William Henry Davies]

👇👇Read the Passage👇👇
My grandmother and I were good friends. My parents left me wither when they went to live in the city and we were constantly together. She used to wake me up in the morning and get me ready for school. She said her morning prayer in the monotonous sing song while she bathed and dressed me in the hope that I would listen and get to know it by heart; I listened because I loved her voice but never bothered to learn it. Then she would fetch my wooden slate which she had already washed and plastered with yellow chalk, a tiny earthen ink-pot and a red pen tie them all in a bundle and hand it to me. After a breakfast of a thick, stale chapatti, with a little butter and sugar spread on it, we went to school. She carried several stale chapattis with her for the village dogs.
My grandmother always went to school with me because the school was attached to the temple. The priest taught us the alphabet and the morning prayer. While the children sat in rows on either side on the verandah singing the alphabet or the prayer in a chorus. My grandmother sat inside reading the scriptures. When we had both finished, we would walk back together with dogs following us for food.

 Here is an unseen practice passage. You will check your results and correct answers immediately.  First read the passage given here under twice and then try the quiz.

👇👇Read the passage👇👇
    Rights and duties are two sides of the same coin. One can’t exist without the other. Duties without rights are mere slavery. Similarly, rights without duties amount to be lawlessness in any civilized society. Rights and duties must go side by side.

    But in today’s world, everybody talks much about his rights. There is a great hue and cry if our rights are infringed. But nobody seems to bother much about his duties. That is why there is a great unrest in our present-day life. Actually, duties come first, and rights afterwards. Many a tie, one man’s right is another man’s duty and vice versa for example every man has the right to have an undisturbed sleep. So it becomes the duty of his neighbour not to tune his TV volume at too high pitch. If we want to enjoy our rights, we should act in such a way that the rights of other are not trespassed. It can happen only if we take due account of our duties also. In short rights and duties are complementary things and not contradictory. The real ideal should be to do the duty without bothering about the rights. This will give peace to our mind and the life will be free from tension.
