A poster or an advertisement is a strong mode of visual i.e., pictorial and verbal communication. It influences the viewer easily by its attractive nature of colourful figures and brevity language. To prepare a poster more effectively one should practice short language that is slogans and quotations. They will make the poster pretty good and attractive.

Details to be shown in a poster or advertisement:
The details may be used according to
the needs of the poster asked for. Some times a few details may be missed
depending on the needs of the poster preparing for.
1.
Heading (Title and a caption): For every
poster there must be a title that attracts and gives a view on the issue.
2.
Venue: Venue is the
place where the programme happens is to be written.
3.
Date: When does the
programme commences and ends has to be mentioned.
4.
Time: When does the
programme commences and ends has to be mentioned.
5.
Programme details: The complete
details of the programme or the event or why the poster is intended for is
clearly mentioned here.
6.
Who issued the poster: At the end of the poster it has to be
mentioned that the issuing authority of the poster.
7.
Suitable pictures etc., whatever necessary to
the context etc.: Drawing a simple and beautiful picture
regarding the issue or expressing the theme of the poster can be drawn. Over
drawing the picture may not serve the purpose. The picture must be relevant to
the theme of the poster.
8.
Slogans: Some slogans
can be written that best suits the theme of the poster. They make the sense
clear with short sentences.
