reading the news in “Reader’s Choice.” Every time when I have some feelings I
bring to your notice. I am very much excited to be promoted to class X and
having new syllabus and books as well.
It’s
really happy to be the first batch of the new textbooks. The English text book

units of different themes. Each unit is compiled with three reading sections.
Exercises after every section are more applied ones. The projects are a bit
difficult but we love to do them.
Thanks

It’s a bit difficult to me write you

be pleasure to me if you send the money immediately. The Principal has ordered
me to pay the amount by 16th itself without fail.

Dear Anitha,
How are you? I am fine and doing
well in my studies. I hope the same with you. I would like to share with you my
feelings about our first lesson ‘Attitude is Altitude”.
Yesterday we saw a video about
Nick. Throughout the lesson, I was eager to know about his life style. Even for
a normal person it’s very hard to attain the success like Nick. He struggled
hard all through his life to become successful in every walk of his life. His
perseverance, courage and confidence inspired me a lot. I have learnt one thing
that even if we fail, we should try again and again until we reach our goal.
Reading this lesson inspired me to aim at 10/10 in my class 10.
Do write your feelings about him.
Convey my regards to your parents and my best wishes to your brother.

My dear Srujana,
I am fine here and hope that you are also fine there
by the grace of the God. I am preparing well for my examinations. Hope you
would do the same.
I would like to share something about the baby in the
poetry, ‘Abandoned’, which I supposed to study yesterday and felt sorry for the
baby. This poetry was written by Dr. Suraya Nasim. The newly born baby was
thrown into a dust bin. The mosquitoes hove bitten its very tiny fingers and
rats ate the hair. The cries of the baby and the pain; is pathetically elevated
in the poem. Now-a-days people all around the globe love to have a male baby
not a female.
Even having educated many people are the same. The
reason behind the abandoned baby is left to the interpretation of the readers.
Dr. Suraya Nasim who is a feminist writer touched the heart of every feminist
in the world through her work of poetry. This poetry struck me very much. We
have been observing many such incidents on news every now and then.
I hope you have read it. Convey my regards to your
elders and wishes to your younger. Expecting early reply…

My dear Tattersal,
I am doing well
here. I Hope the same with you. I have to tell you something that amuses you, I
think.
You know pretty
well that after the death of my sweet heart I lived a part with Amelia and a
part with Elizabeth. But both are put up with me. Few days ago, Amelia thought
that I was dead and started stealing things of mine. And Elizabeth quarreled
with her to share things between them. I found that they never take care of me but
they pretended these days. Hence, I decided to do three things and did the
first two. I have paid my insurance premium and changed my will that whoever
with me when I expire will be the legal heir of my property.
Now the amusing
decision is to get married. You know that Mrs. John Shorrocks, a widow, who
keeps Ring-O-Bells, a restaurant down the street, is ready to look after me not
bothering about any of my belongings. She is even ready to live with me along
with my children if they come back. On Monday next week we are going to marry
at St. Phillip Church at 12 O’clock.
We cordially
invite you to grace the occasion and make the ceremony grand success. As you
know I have the only friend, you, I await your arrival a day or two earlier.

the fire to
house.
I, the
elder son of Mr. Bhayyaji, request you to find the culprits of my father’s
death and the reason for our house caught fire.
Our father had retired from the
work and returned home this year. He wished to build a storeyed house. But many
of our village heads warned him not to build a storeyed one. They ordered to
build a regular portioned house instead. We, daliths, afraid of them
constructed a concealed storeyed house. They did not tolerate this and our
house caught in fire when we were celebrating the house warming ceremony last
night. Unaware of the reason our father wailed and caught by the fire.
We doubt on the Patils and the
heads of the village that put fire or appointed others to put fire to our
house.
We request you to kindly inquire
it and find the culprits behind our father’s death and who put fire to our
house. Do please take necessary action against them according to the acts of
penal.

E.g.7: Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper about the harmful
effects of reckless driving. In your letter you have to explain why reckless
driving poses great danger to lives and property.
Door No. 35,
Vishal Enclave,
Nampally,

Dated: 30th

To
The Editor,
The Times of India,
New Delhi.
Sir/Madam,
For
the last two or three months there has not been a single day when road
accidents did not occur in Hyderabad. Most of these accidents were caused by
reckless driving. Truck drivers and those who drink and drive are notorious for
rash driving.
The
other day I was horrified to witness a dreadful accident. A young biker and his
wife were crushed to death when a speeding truck that came from behind ran over
them. They died on the spot. I am sure that it was not an isolated incident.
Countless innocent lives are lost on the roads.
The
concern with reckless driving is that it possesses a significant risk to the
people in the surrounding area as well as the driver. Reckless drivers could
kill children, animals and pedestrians. A car that spins out of control can
harm other vehicles on the road. In addition, reckless driving can cause
significant damage to property. Thus, it goes without saying that reckless
driving is a public safety issue that must be properly addressed.

Sir/Madam,
I shall be highly obliged if you would kindly react towards
the manhole issues.
It has caught the attention of the pedestrians walking
through the city streets that the open manholes are found almost everywhere
which are the death traps for the people especially at night and during rainy
season when the streets are inundated with water covering the manholes
unnoticed. Cases are plenty that these open manholes have claimed lives of many
people in the recent past.
In order to avoid recurrence of such incidence in future I would
appeal to the city Department of Municipal Affairs to take appropriate action
in covering the open manholes and arrange to check-up the manholes at regular
intervals so that the pedestrians can walk freely through the footpaths at
night and during rains.
