BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
It looks similar to paragraph
profile of an individual. Biographical sketch gives an account of the life and
activities of an individual or family. It would include information about the
person's name, place of residence, education, occupation, life and activities
and other important details. A biographical sketch is always written by someone
else except the person on whom it is written. It provides the pen picture of
that person. A bio-sketch presents the facts about the person's life including
what the person did and how he/she influenced the world. It should describe the
person's personality and provide an explanation for why he or she acted in
certain ways.
A
biography is a description of a real person’s life, including factual details
as well as stories from the person’s life. Biographies usually include
information about the subject’s personality and motivations, and other kinds of
intimate details excluded in a general overview or profile of a person’s life.
The vast majority of biography examples are written about people who are or
were famous, such as politicians, actors, athletes, and so on. However, some
biographies can be written about people who lived incredible lives, but were
not necessarily well-known.
For
examinations purpose; you will be provided a table of contents like a tabular
profile. Use them to write organized paragraphs, like organizing a paragraph
using birth, parents and other details. Organize another paragraph using
education and career details from the table. One more paragraph to illustrate
his/her achievements or awards or reward. Thus, take the help of the table of
contents given in the question make them into sentences of your own and connect
them using cohesive devices, sometimes called linking words, linkers,
connectors, discourse markers or transitional words to organize paragraphs.
Finally, don’t forget to give it a title with a caption.
The
word biography comes from the Greek word bios, meaning
“life” and – graphia,
meaning “writing.”
A
biography is a description of a life that is not the author’s own, while an
autobiography is the description of a writer’s own life.
Points to

written in third person illustration.
2.
