Punctuation Marks (Basics) for classes 6 to 10
- Capitalization: Always capitalize the first word of a sentence and proper nouns (e.g., names, places).
- Full Stops: Use full stops to end declarative sentences.
- Commas in Lists: When listing three or more items, use commas to separate them (e.g., apples, oranges, and bananas).
- Quotation Marks: Enclose direct speech or quotations in quotation marks (e.g., She said, “I will be there soon.”).
- Apostrophes: Use apostrophes to indicate possession (e.g., Sarah's book) or in contractions (e.g., don't for do not).
- Exclamation Marks: Use exclamation marks to express strong emotion or urgency (e.g., Watch out!).
- Question Marks: End interrogative sentences with question marks (e.g., Are you coming to the party?).
