used to
We use “used to +
infinitive” to talk about a past situation that is no longer true. It
tells us that there was a repeated action or state in the past which has now
changed.
“used” is the verb – and
it is in the past. But there is no present form! We use it when we want to talk
about something we
did in the past that we don't do now.
